Multipower offers hybrid-ready rental gensets with DEIF

DEIF devices, training, and support help Multipower, a Brazilian rental expert, satisfy increased customer demand for low-emission solutions by facilitating integration between diesel gensets, storage, and renewables.

"Together, we will deliver and implement solutions that make a difference in the Brazilian market," says a satisfied Edimar Araujo Sousa. He is partner and owner at Brazilian genset rental power company Multipower Geradores which is using DEIF devices, training, and support to successfully adapt to changing market demands.

"We're a medium-sized company specialising in rental and maintenance of power generators," he explains. "We provide flexible and innovative solutions, and we're specialists in multi-brand control systems."

Market is booming – and changing

The company's rental power solutions are used in widely different applications, from supermarkets, hotels, and hospitals to oil and gas extraction, industry, and mining. And Multipower is operating in a booming market: According to market analysts 6wresearch.com , the Brazilian power rental market is thriving as businesses seek flexible and temporary power solutions for various applications.

But customer expectations are changing. Multipower's clients increasingly want to improve sustainability and reduce emissions, and Edimar Araujo Sousa is well aware of this key trend.

"Our customers want hybrid systems, energy storage, and emissions reduction," he says. "They want solutions with various energy sources. We are therefore actively pursuing specialisations in renewable energy; we're studying implementation measures like how to use renewable sources such as solar panels and hybrid vehicles in our fleet. And we're modernising our fleet with controllers capable of operating with hybrid systems and energy storage."

This is where DEIF is making a difference with control devices that enable Multipower's diesel gensets to interface effortlessly with renewables and storage. And the successful collaboration started at an informal training session.

Training session paves the way

DEIF is playing an active role in upskilling energy professionals all over the world. The goal is to empower users to make the most of DEIF devices and to design, build, and operate solutions that contribute to the energy transition by reducing fuel consumption and emissions whilst ensuring reliable power. In addition to a steady stream of courses offered at the DEIF Academy, DEIF subsidiaries frequently offer additional training events – for example in Brazil.

"We often offer technical training about genset controllers at our office," says Sales Manager Walysson Henrique Faria Pereira of DEIF Brazil. "When our sales staff visit customers, they often invite them to come to DEIF for one of these sessions. It was at one of these events that Multipower met us."

Devices suitable for hybrid solutions

In addition to the training, Multipower were attracted to DEIF because of the AGC-150 controller series which offered the features that Multipower were looking for.

In addition to offering fuel-efficient performance and the required control, protection, and synchronisation features, an AGC-150 can communicate directly with a long list of engines and ECUs, and it can interface with DEIF and third-party renewable controllers, making it easy to set up hybrid systems on customer sites.

Today, Multipower uses several AGC-150 variants as well as the SGC 420 Mk II genset controller which also offers broad engine compatibility and integration options. Edimar Araujo Sousa explains that the main benefit of using the DEIF devices is their high suitability for generators, and the ability to use them in ATS (automated transfer switch) applications where the devices provide high-quality and user-friendly performance.

"I like the flexibility of these controllers," says Edimar Araujo Sousa. "They were developed for hybrid applications with the aim of reducing fossil fuels. We particularly use them in the agriculture sector."

Well prepared for the future

DEIF devices and support have made it easier for Multipower to cater to customers interested in hybrid energy and renewables. By focusing on making its diesel gensets compatible with solar panels and battery energy storage, Multipower is well prepared for the future: According to the 6wresearch report, the genset rental market will increasingly have to provide flexible, eco-friendly alternatives and continuously seek to comply with regulatory frameworks and emissions standards.

With DEIF, Multipower can do just that and has found a partner for the journey towards the future of rental power in Brazil; not only because of the devices themselves but also because of support and training.

"I think excellent technical support will be critical in the future development of the Brazilian generator assembler market," concludes Edimar Araujo Sousa. "And I think DEIF should continue innovating and developing good products with excellent technical support. DEIF is a great partner!"
